South Carolina’s Telephone Privacy Protection Act limits telephone solicitations to 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time at the consumer’s location, unless the consumer gave prior written consent. At the start of the call the solicitor must give their name, the company’s name, a contact phone number and address, and the purpose of the call. A consumer can recover $1,000 per violation, up to $5,000 if willful, plus attorney’s fees.
